Walker Ceramics has produced Video Ceramics, a series of videos with Master Potter, Greg Daly. These innovative video tapes have gained wide acclaim throughout Australia and the series is now being sold to customers worldwide. 
They provide visual step by step information from the beginner to the ultimate professional. They have been developed for the classroom pottery groups and the individual potter. 

Greg Daly was born in Melbourne in 1954. He studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology receiving a Diploma and the Fellowship in Ceramics. To date he has held –over 70 solo exhibitions and participated in over 200 group shows and is also represented in Australian Travelling Exhibitions touring Europe and the United States.

He is represented in over 70 museums and public collections throughout Australia, & Internationally. Greg has over 30 awards to his credit, including the International Ceramic Academy Prize at the International Biennial at Vallauris, France. He also has a Silver Medal from the Arts, Sciences & Letters Academy of France and is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva, Switzerland. He has lectured extensively in colleges and at over 150 workshops throughout Australia and his work appears in 22 published books on Ceramics.

Greg also wrote the highly acclaimed "Glazes and Glazing Techniques" book which has been sold worldwide.

Video No. 1 - Throwing Techniques
This video gives a comprehensive illustration of instruction in the craftsmanship of clay. This concise demonstration of the skills of throwing enables the potter to closely follow the throwing movements.
Firstly, Greg discusses the basic properties of clay and the methods of preparing the clay body for the wheel, to avoid problems when actually throwing and shaping.
The body position, the arm & hand positioning and movements plus the correct mental approach are all important and are fully covered on this video. The potter must be responsive to the needs of the clay. The progressive development of different shapes from basic cylinders to advanced forms are completely covered. These forms can be created quickly and easily altered in endless ways. Throwing can be easily mastered  by anyone willing to use and practice the methods shown in this video.

Video No. 2 - Turning, Decorating and Glazing.
After having mastered throwing pots, what's next? This video presents a clear and instructive illustration of the techniques of turning.
It allows the viewer to watch a skilled professional at work. Its authorative discussion on the importance of foot design, and its variations, is a most important contribution to the excellence of form. The demonstration of hand & tool positions for turning together with selected decoration techniques are clearly shown step by step.
Finally a discussion and demonstration of glazing, with some reference to glaze, formulation is very informative.

Video No. 3 - Hand Building
Clay is a beautiful material for the creation of shapes and forms without mechanical aids.
Craftsman are turning their attention to hand building techniques, which so easily give a variety of forms, expressiveness and few limitations on size. Free form slab building achieves a freshness from clay and you learn its ability to perform. The demonstrated forms are finished in various ways:- by the addition of various textures, coloured clays, coloured slips, airbrushing and glazing. Precise slab built pieces are also developed and finished. A demonstration of the use of different clay bodies is fully illustrated.

Video No. 4 - Hand Building 2
A video covering further techniques and their development using coloured clays. Greg demonstrates 12 different ideas using one pot, mould making, slip casting and much more!

Video No.5 - Raku & Black Firing
An exciting video dealing with not only the firing but building of the most simple forms of kilns. Learn how to experiment with sawdust, oil and raku. Glazes are also explained as well as "on decoration" and aids for decoration. This is a definite "must have"!

Video No.6 - Syllabus For Beginners Parts I & II
It's never to late to learn - these videos cover the handling, making, decorating and glazing techniques. Designed for people of all ages, they are a great introduction to playing with clay.

Video No.7 - Moulds & Decoration
This video explains how to make a model in clay, in preparation to then making a mould. How to prepare the plaster, make the form work, through to pouring and finishing - they are all explained in a simple, easy to follow manner. Decoration and inlays are also demonstrated.
