They are 100 % food & drink safe when fired correctly.

They have been tested by an independent laboratory using the methods stipulated in the British Standard Specification No.BS4860 : Part1: 1972  for "Permissible Limits of Metal Release from Glazed Ceramic Ware" and the Food & Drug Standards (Amendment 17) 1977 Statutory Rule No. 373 of the Health Act 1958  for "Extractable Lead & Cadmium in Food Utensils".
